 
Mechanical Samples of Amkor Packages Available
Amkor Technology has contracted with Practical Components to support our mechanical samples program and offer "Pb-free or Green" packages with different qualified finishes such as SnPb, 100% Matte Sn and SnBi. Solder ball alloy’s available are 63/37SnPb, SAC105, SAC125Ni, SAC305 and SAC405.
Mechanical samples are non electrically functional packages and are used for machine set-up, acceptance and demonstration of pick and place equipment, educational training, operator training and certification, solder paste evaluations, wave soldering profile modeling, cleaning and cleanliness evaluations, adhesive evaluations, SMT processes and printed circuit board rework. Mechanical samples are not to be used for 1st reliability testing.
Parts are available daisy chained for customers to check continuity and assembled with dummy die (to simulate live package) for CTE testing.
