CHANDLER, Ariz.---July 7, 2006--Amkor Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ GSM: AMKR) announced today that on June 30 it completed the redemption of $178,118,000 aggregate principal amount of its $200 million in 10.5% Senior Subordinated Notes due 2009 (the "Notes"). The Notes were redeemed at a price of $1,017.50 per $1,000 of principal amount, plus accrued and unpaid interest of approximately $17.21 per $1,000 principal amount, for a total redemption price of approximately $1,034.71 per $1,000 principal amount of Notes.
In connection with the redemption of these notes, Amkor expects to record a charge, with no tax effect, of approximately $5.4 million, or $0.03 per diluted share, in the second quarter of 2006.
