CHANDLER, Ariz., Nov. 30 -- Amkor Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: AMKR) today announced that is has purchased in the open market $100 million of its outstanding $233 million aggregate principal amount of 5.75 percent Convertible Subordinated Notes due June 1, 2006. Amkor financed the purchase of these notes with the proceeds of its recent private placement of $100 million of convertible subordinated notes due 2013 to James J. Kim and certain affiliated entities of James J. Kim.
